TIFF: The Market Introduces the Innovation Hub
The Toronto Film Festival has recently launched a new market section known as TIFF: The Market, which proudly presents its first-ever Innovation Hub focusing on XR, VR, and Mixed Reality films. This year, eight distinctive projects have been chosen to be showcased during this segment.
The selected projects include a variety of immersive experiences making their debut as World, North American, and Canadian premieres. These projects hail from a diverse group of countries including Canada, France, Denmark, the USA, Germany, Belgium, Taiwan, Greenland, and the Netherlands.
A panel consisting of nine experts was responsible for the selection of these innovative projects. Charles Tremblay, the leader of TIFF: The Market, has expressed that the Innovation Hub symbolizes the future direction of the film industry. It merges groundbreaking technology with new narrative techniques that transform the way content is created, produced, and consumed.
Tremblay further emphasized the unique opportunity this hub presents to buyers. It’s an ideal platform for discovering cutting-edge projects that push the boundaries of traditional formats and geographic limits, aiming to meet the evolving entertainment demands of global audiences.
The Innovation Hub will be set up on the 200-level of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and will be open to all registered participants for the duration of the seven-day market event.
