Statement from the Giuffre Family Released
Amid ongoing controversies linked to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Prince Andrew is set to lose his royal privileges by decree of King Charles III. This decision comes in light of the recently published memoir by Virginia Giuffre, a notable accuser of Epstein, who tragically took her life in April. Her memoir was released earlier this month.
Buckingham Palace announced, “Today, His Majesty has begun the formal procedure to strip Andrew Mountbatten Windsor of his royal style, titles, and honors.”
The Prince is also required to vacate his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor, following a report by The Times of London that he has failed to pay rent for the property for twenty years, having been charged a nominal “one peppercorn” annually.
The Palace’s statement added, “Formal notice has been given to terminate the lease, and he will relocate to other private accommodations. These measures are considered necessary even though he denies all allegations against him.”
The statement from the Palace also noted, “Their Majesties want it to be known that their thoughts and deepest sympathies are, and continue to be, with the victims and survivors of all types of abuse.”
This marks a significant downfall for Andrew, whose reputation has been severely impacted by his connections to Epstein and his alleged involvement with Giuffre. In her memoir, Giuffre reiterated her claims that she was coerced into having sexual encounters with Andrew three times when she was 17 years old.
Following the announcement this morning, Giuffre’s family released a statement through various media outlets.
“Today, a typical American girl from a normal American family has overthrown a British prince with her truth and remarkable bravery,” the statement read.
“Virginia Roberts Giuffre, our sister, was a child when she was sexually assaulted by Andrew. She never ceased her fight for justice for what was done to her and for many other survivors like her,” the statement continued.
“Today, she celebrates a victory. We, her family, together with her sisters in survival, carry on Virginia’s fight and will persist until every individual who abused her and their enablers, linked to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, are held accountable,” it concluded.
Andrew’s loss of his ‘Prince’ title comes after he voluntarily relinquished other titles, including the Duke of York, earlier this month. At that time, he stated his ongoing commitment to “vigorously deny the accusations against me.”
