Christophe Pinard-Legry has been appointed as the CEO of Canal+ Europe. In this new capacity, he will also serve on the board of Canal+, together with David Mignot, who is the head of both Canal+ Africa and MultiChoice.
In his expanded role, Pinard-Legry will continue to serve as the CEO of Canal+ France. His board membership is shared with other prominent figures such as Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada, Deputy CEO and CEO of Studiocanal Anna Marsh, CFO Amandine Ferré, and Gérald‑Brice Viret, a key executive at Canal+ France.
Jacques du Puy, the former head of Canal+’s international television operations and a longstanding President of International, has recently retired after more than a decade of service.
Over the past ten years, Pinard-Legry has climbed the ranks within the company, starting as a Commercial Director and ascending to become CEO of Canal+ France’s business operations in 2022. He manages the French operations in tandem with Viret, who is the CEO responsible for Programmes and Channels.
Pinard-Legry’s new responsibilities include overseeing all of Canal+’s subsidiaries in Europe and coordinating its activities across the continent. Canal+, which is listed in London, boasts 18 million subscribers spread over 10 countries in Europe.
He will be overseeing several key executives, including Aline Aliz, head of Canal+ Overseas; Yassine Bouzoubaa, who manages operations in Benelux and Central Europe; and Edtya Sadowska, the leader of Canal+ Poland.
This announcement follows the successful completion of Canal+’s $2 billion acquisition of the African media powerhouse MultiChoice in October of the previous year. Following the acquisition, Mignot was appointed to oversee MultiChoice in addition to his role as CEO of Canal+ Africa.
