Embankment Films Expands Its Unscripted Team
As Sheffield DocFest approaches, Embankment Films is enhancing its unscripted department. The company, based in London, has recently welcomed seasoned unscripted producer Zoe Sandhu as the new Head of Production. Additionally, there have been significant promotions within the team: Nick Taussig has been elevated to Head of Unscripted, and Henry Farrington has been appointed as Associate Producer.
Zoe Sandhu brings a wealth of experience from her previous work on popular programs like The Apprentice and Our Planet Earth. On the other hand, Taussig, known for his work on McQueen and Churchill, along with Farrington, who has credits in Dwarf Story and Call Me Kate, have both been part of the Embankment’s unscripted sector since its inception in 2023.
Current Projects and Productions
Embankment is not just expanding its team; it’s also busy with several intriguing projects. The production and sales company is currently developing Epic: The Life & Times of David Lean for Sky Arts. Additionally, they are working on a confidential biographical project about a notable postwar British figure for the same network. Another exciting endeavor includes Wasp Woman: Murder of a B-Movie Star for Sundance Now, which is being marketed by Sphere Abacus both as a feature documentary and a limited series. Embankment has previously successfully launched series such as Dwarf Story: Life Without People on ITV and Strike: An Uncivil War, which Netflix picked up for the UK audience. Both series have gained international distribution through Rainmaker.
On the narrative film side, Embankment is working on Sunny Dancer, starring Bella Ramsey, and is also developing a film adaptation of the highly acclaimed stage production Prima Facie, which has seen success on both West End and Broadway.
The recent appointments in the unscripted division are timed perfectly with the upcoming Sheffield DocFest, scheduled to take place from June 18 to June 23 in the UK. This strategic expansion underscores Embankment Films’ commitment to strengthening its production capabilities and enhancing its portfolio in both unscripted and feature film projects.
