Helluva Boss Live-Action Crossover: First Glimpse Before Streaming Launch!

Blitzo introducing himself while holding a flintlock pistol in Helluva Boss

The much-anticipated return of the popular series Helluva Boss is taking an exciting turn with its venture into live-action, and ScreenRant is giving us the first sneak peek. The show, crafted by Vivienne Medrano, exists in the same universe as her other successful adult animated series, Hazbin Hotel. Originally launched on Medrano’s YouTube channel, the series has been picked up by Prime Video for its upcoming two seasons.

Like Hazbin Hotel, Helluva Boss blends musical and comedic elements but centers around I.M.P., an assassination agency in Hell managed by Blitzo. This venture kick-starts when Blitzo gets his hands on an ancient tome from a Goetic demon, enabling them to cross into the human realm. The series not only follows their assassination missions but also delves into the complex relationships among the main characters.

With the debut of seasons 1 and 2 just around the corner, ScreenRant is thrilled to present the first glimpse of the live-action crossover of Helluva Boss, featuring Brandon Rogers as Blitzo. Rogers brings his well-loved imp character to life in the upcoming movie A Night at The Park, a sequel to his widely recognized shorts A Day at The Park and A Day at the Beach.

Beyond the image release, it’s also revealed exclusively that the film will star not only Rogers but also his Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss co-stars Blake Roman, Morgana Ignis, Vivienne Medrano, and Georgie Leahy, appearing as fresh characters rather than their animated versions. Additional appearances include Rosanna Pansino, the conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita, and artist bbno$. Below is the first look at Rogers’ portrayal of Blitzo in live-action:

The Impact of the Live-Action Crossover on the Hellaverse

Blitzo’s role in A Night at The Park is part of a broader promotional campaign for the release of Helluva Boss seasons 1 and 2 on September 10, including the pilot redo titled “Mission Zero”. Animated series enthusiasts can also engage with an “I.M.P. phone line” to receive a unique message from the Hellaverse by dialing (712) IMP-HELL.

Although the series was successful prior to partnering with the streaming service, the collaboration between Rogers and Medrano on Blitzo’s live-action appearance in A Night at The Park highlights the creative freedoms afforded by their relationship with Prime Video. The control Medrano and SpindleHorse hold over their creations, coupled with their collaboration with Prime Video, continues to underscore their strong partnership.

This crossover also hints at potential future live-action projects within the Hellaverse. Given the strong fanbases of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, if Rogers’ film, his largest project to date, succeeds, it would be wonderful to see further specials developed in collaboration with Prime Video and Medrano.

Our View on the Live-Action Hellaverse Crossover

Since his initial involvement with the series, Rogers has been a perfect match for Medrano’s Helluva Boss. Known for his distinctive and eccentric sketches, the transition of bringing Blitzo to the live-action scene in A Night at The Park is an intriguing development, and hopefully, just the beginning.

Helluva Boss seasons 1 and 2 are set to premiere on Prime Video on September 10.
