‘In Flight’: First Look At Katherine Kelly As Single Mum Drug Smuggling To Save Her Son

EXCLUSIVE: Get a sneak peek at Katherine Kelly starring in In Flight, the new edge-of-your-seat airline drama poised to captivate audiences.

Explore the images above and below featuring Kelly and other cast members immersed in a narrative filled with narcotics trafficking, criminal activities, and intrigue. The show is penned and partly created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy).

In the series, which has been picked up by Channel 4, ProSieben, SBS, and TVNZ, Kelly portrays Jo Conran, a single mother and flight attendant. She finds herself manipulated into smuggling drugs as a result of her son being jailed in Bulgaria for a murder he insists he did not commit, under the coercion of a character named Cormac (Stuart Martin).

As Jo is drawn deeper into a dark world of graft and assassins, she is compelled to follow through with the sinister demands while she frantically searches for an escape route. In her desperation, she seeks assistance from her former partner, Customs Officer Dom Delaney (Ashley Thomas). Despite how far Jo strays from her former existence, her primary goal remains unchanged: to ensure her son’s survival.

Kelly, widely recognized for her role as the nefarious Angela van den Bogerd in ITV’s BAFTA-winning Mr Bates vs the Post Office, is accompanied by newcomers Bronagh Waugh as Melanie, Harry Cadby as Sonny, Corinna Brown as Kayla, and Ambreen Razia as Zara.

The series is a production of Buccaneer Media and spans multiple international locations including Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul, and London, with shooting earlier this year in Belfast, supported by Northern Ireland Screen. The production team includes Producer Brendan Mullin (Wreck, Dalgliesh) and Director Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star). Executive producers are Anna Burns, Richard Tulk-Hart, and Tony Wood on behalf of Buccaneer, along with Rebecca Dundon and Simon Judd for Fremantle, plus Walden, Randall, Kelly, and Baugh. Fremantle is in charge of global sales.
