According to Deadline, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is expected to surpass $700 million domestically this Wednesday, after just three weeks in theaters. There’s speculation that this Tom Holland-led film might be the first to break the $1 billion mark in domestic earnings. Although it’s still early to confirm, the coming weeks will be crucial. Surpassing this milestone would mean outdoing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made $936.6 million in North America.
The film not only propels forward the MCU’s box office achievements but also sets a new record as the fourth MCU film to earn over $700 million domestically. Prior successes include Avengers: Endgame with $858.3 million in 2019 and Spider-Man: No Way Home with $814.8 million in 2021, amidst a global pandemic. It’s highly probable that this new Spider-Man title will exceed the domestic earnings of Black Panther, which garnered $700.4 million in 2018.
Just a week earlier, Spider-Man: Brand New Day crossed the $1 billion threshold globally, becoming the second quickest film to achieve this feat in just six days. Currently, it ranks as the second most lucrative film of The Multiverse Saga, following 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home at $1.92 billion and ahead of 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine at $1.33 billion.

Although Holland’s participation in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars has not been confirmed, fans anticipate his involvement in at least one of the upcoming ensemble films.
The future of a fifth Spider-Man film remains uncertain as no official announcements have been made. However, should Destin Daniel Cretton return as director, fans may need to be patient, as he is slated to direct the live-action Naruto film, set to begin production in 2027.
