Historically, Marvel films have benefited significantly from IMAX showings, which have contributed a substantial portion of their box office earnings. Despite the absence of IMAX options in the initial weeks, the strong pre-sale figures indicate that Avengers: Doomsday continues to generate substantial interest, even amidst ongoing discussions about superhero fatigue in Hollywood.
For context, these pre-sales figures are double those of Deadpool & Wolverine on its first day, a film that ultimately grossed $1.3 billion globally, as reported by Variety, highlighting that these figures included all available formats and screens.
