Streaming service Viu, in collaboration with South Korean broadcaster SBS, is set to launch the third installment of the popular series Taxi Driver in the last quarter of this year. The series will see the return of renowned Korean actor Lee Je-hoon (Move to Heaven), who will be joined by familiar faces such as Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Bae Yoo-ram.
This upcoming season will debut globally as a Viu Original, with the exception of South Korea and mainland China.
In his continued role, Lee Je-hoon portrays Kim Do-gi, a gifted but haunted vigilante. The series, crafted by writer Oh Sang-ho and director Kang Bo-seung, promises to delve deeper into thrilling narratives.
Adding to the excitement, Hong Kong singer and actor Edan Lui, a member of the boy group Mirror, is set to make his debut in Korean dramas with a role in this series, where his character will establish an unexpected partnership with Kim Do-gi.
Originating from the webtoon “Red Cage,” the first season of Taxi Driver was broadcasted on SBS in 2021 and quickly became one of the channel’s most successful series that year.
Viu is also preparing to release the Korean romantic drama My Youth, featuring Song Joong-ki, and My Girlfriend Is a Man!, starring Astro’s Yoon San-ha, Oh My Girl’s Arin, Yoo Jung-hoo, and Loona’s Chuu, both slated for release in the third quarter of this year.
Additionally, Chinese series Immortal Ascension and Love’s Ambition, along with Indonesian productions Rintik Terakhir and Secret High School, and Malaysian shows Putri & Phrince and Seadanya Kita, are also expected to premiere in the third quarter.
Viu has announced plans for 12 new Malay titles, involving collaborations with Malaysian studios such as Rumah Karya Citra and Global Station, as well as Indonesian content from the Viu and MAXStream Originals partnership with Indonesia’s Telkomsel.

Scheduled for 2025, these include new global collaborations like Taxi Driver 3, My Youth, and The Season, aimed at fostering the creative industry and presenting diverse cultural narratives that engage audiences worldwide.
