Mark Linsey Takes On Full-Time Role in L.A. for BBC Studios as Search for New Scripted Head Begins
Mark Linsey, previously juggling responsibilities in L.A. and globally for BBC Studios, is now dedicating his efforts full-time to the U.S. market. This shift comes as BBC Studios initiates a search for a new global scripted managing director. Linsey, who has been stationed in L.A. since 2023, will continue in his role during the hiring process. The responsibility for global scripted strategy will soon be handed over to a new leader in drama and comedy. Zai Bennett, head of BBC Studios Productions, has begun the search for this new position. BBC Studios, which manages in-house drama and comedy alongside owning independent producers like Clerkenwell, Baby Cow, and House Productions, sees this move as a strategy to strengthen its scripted programming efforts in the U.S. Bennett stated, “Mark’s commitment to focusing exclusively on Los Angeles underscores our plans to intensify our scripted programming initiatives in the U.S., while continuing to support our outstanding UK producers and brands.”
