Yuri Rutman Joins Forces with Dryblue Agency
Notable for his roles in Chicago P.D. and The Unit, actor Yuri Rutman has recently secured representation with Dryblue Agency.
Rebecka Johnston of Dryblue will be Rutman’s agent, operating from the agency’s newly inaugurated office in Budapest, Hungary.
Johnston expressed her enthusiasm about representing Rutman, stating, “Yuri embodies the type of international creative talent we are eager to support. His abilities extend beyond acting; he is a visionary storyteller who grasps the creative and business aspects of the film industry.”
She further noted, “Yuri’s diverse talents and linguistic skills in English and Russian, coupled with his creative insight, make him an ideal addition to our agency as we continue to expand our global footprint.”
Rutman has also achieved recognition as a filmmaker, recently writing, directing, and acting in the short film Trained, which was picked up by Shorts.TV, known for streaming Academy Award-nominated short films.
Born in Ukraine and raised in Chicago, Rutman spent significant time in Los Angeles before moving to Budapest. He is currently developing a new project titled The Violinist, described as an epic Ukrainian-Jewish immigrant crime drama set in Chicago.
Rutman shared his excitement about the vibrant film and TV scene in Budapest, commenting, “Budapest is fast becoming a global hub for filmmaking. I am thrilled to be part of Dryblue at such a crucial time and am eager to broaden my international scope.”
Dryblue, with existing offices in the UK, France, Italy, and the U.S., is now establishing a strategic base in Hungary. The agency aims to leverage Budapest as a pivotal link between European production locales and Hollywood.
The agency, originally founded by Thomas Philip Brunney and Nicholas Brunney in London, represents over 500 clients worldwide, including names like Joseph Baena, William McNamara, Sharni Vinson, and Langston Fishburne.
