Fremantle Poland has welcomed Julita Brutus as its new Managing Director, succeeding Piotr Radzymiński who led the company for almost a quarter-century. Joining Fremantle a decade ago as the Sales & Acquisitions Manager, Brutus climbed the ranks to become the Head of Sales and Development by 2019. Her notable projects include the supervision of the Netflix series Love Never Lies and the forthcoming adaptation of Love is Blind for the Polish audience. She will directly report to Georgette Schlick, the CEO of Fremantle for Northern Europe. Schlick expressed her enthusiasm about working closely with Julita, citing her extensive experience and deep understanding of the market as key assets for Fremantle’s continued expansion and diversification in Poland. Radzymiński leaves behind a legacy of popular shows like Idol, Between Friends, Farmer Wants a Wife, Family Feud, Poland’s Got Talent, and Rhythm+Flow.

A new documentary collaboration between Channel 4 and YouTube delves into the shadowy realm of “Crash for Cash” insurance fraud schemes. Investigative reporter Mike Okay anchors the documentary titled Crash for Cash: Uncovered. In it, he infiltrates the criminal world led by a mysterious figure known as Abdul, uncovering the extensive nature of their fraudulent activities. Produced by Ben Zand’s Zandland Films, the film is part of a series of projects that Channel 4 is commissioning exclusively for YouTube to capitalize on the video-sharing platform’s extensive reach. Zand emphasized that the documentary exemplifies the kind of daring, insightful, and immersive journalism that Zandland aims to produce.

This 29th edition of the festival showcases a variety of films that reflect the richness of British-Jewish life, bringing both new and established filmmakers to the fore. Additionally, the festival announced the launch of the Changing Perspectives Film Fund in June, aimed at producing four new short films over the next six months. These films will focus on teenage protagonists and are intended for educational use as well as festival screenings.
