Andrew Llinares Exiting Fremantle After Three Years As Global Entertainment Boss

Andrew Llinares, the head of global entertainment at Fremantle and previous executive producer of Dancing with the Stars, is set to depart the company known for producing Got Talent after a three-year tenure.

Llinares will leave his position based in London this spring. Details about his successor remain undisclosed, except for the announcement that his global entertainment division will temporarily be overseen by CEO Jennifer Mullin. Llinares expressed his desire to shift his focus back to content creation and hands-on production.

During his time at Fremantle, Llinares was instrumental in guiding and developing the company’s internationally acclaimed entertainment portfolio and its formats, as stated by the company.

Prior to his global role, Llinares was the executive producer for five seasons of Dancing with the Stars. His UK experience includes being the showrunner for major Fremantle co-productions such as The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

The entertainment lineup at Fremantle includes popular shows like …Got Talent, Too Hot To Handle, and The Piano.

CEO Jennifer Mullin praised Llinares, describing him as “a visionary creative.” She added, “Working closely with him over the years, both when he was a creative executive producer and during his leadership role, has been incredibly rewarding. He played a pivotal role in creating some of the most iconic and successful entertainment shows ever made.”

Llinares commented on his departure, “Leaving Fremantle was a tough decision. It’s a remarkable company, supported by some of the industry’s best teams worldwide. Working with the Global Entertainment Team has been an honor, and I’m confident our paths will cross again. While I have enjoyed every moment here, the urge to return to active creative work was too strong to resist. I am excited to embark on my next creative journey.”

This announcement comes a month after Christian Vesper, Fremantle’s chief of global drama and film, also declared his departure after ten years with the company.
