The Amsterdam-based global distributor, Piece of Magic Entertainment (POM), in collaboration with Riot Games, has unveiled their plan to broadcast two prominent esports events in European cinemas this autumn.
As part of their ongoing collaboration, POM will manage the live cinema broadcasts across nine European countries for the 2025 Valorant Champions Grand Final, which will occur in Paris on October 5.
Subsequently, the League of Legends World Championship Finals, set to be held in Chengdu, China, will be streamed live in over 30 European territories on November 9.
Since 2018, POM and Riot Games have partnered to amplify the popularity and demand for live esports events while demonstrating the unique communal experience that live cinema events offer, bringing fans together in an engaging and dynamic setting.
“Our deep-rooted partnership with Riot Games has crucially contributed to the emergence of esports within the cinematic landscape. Broadcasting these finals live on the big screen provides fans with a distinctive, shared experience of these pivotal events as they unfold,” stated Caspar Nadaud, founder and CEO of POM.
Nadaud further mentioned that in addition to the broadcasts, Piece of Magic Entertainment and Riot Games are preparing to host special flagship events in major regions. These will include live festivities with exclusive giveaways, cosplay activities, interactive gaming sessions, and photo opportunities, all designed to deepen fan engagement with the tournament’s atmosphere.
Founded in 2017, Piece of Magic Entertainment specializes in distributing niche films across a broad spectrum of markets, from limited local screenings to expansive releases in over 130 countries.
Beyond esports, POM also brings to cinemas live concert performances and concert films featuring globally acclaimed artists, including Taylor Swift’s The Official Release Party of a Showgirl.
The distributor has also handled notable films such as the award-winning nature documentary Ocean narrated by David Attenborough, the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One, and popular music documentaries like Becoming Led Zeppelin.
POM’s subsidiary, POM Anime, has been responsible for releasing anime hits in cinemas, including Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, and DAN DA DAN: Evil Eye.
