About ‘The Trek’
The Trek, directed by first-time feature filmmaker Meekaëel Adam, is a horror-Western that chronicles the daunting journey of a settler family trekking across the Kalahari Desert in the mid-19th century. In this film, Vivier shares the screen with Morné Visser, known for his role in the The Kissing Booth series. The script is co-written by Adam and producer James C. Williamson, recognized for his work on Fried Barry.
The film is a production of the Department of Special Projects, with Prime Video holding the rights for sub-Saharan Africa, and Global Constellation managing international sales.
