Peter Parker’s journey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to captivate audiences, proving to be a monumental success in 2026.
This summer marked Tom Holland’s much-anticipated return to the MCU after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. His 2026 comeback has not only been a hit at the box office but is also gearing up for its release on home entertainment formats.
According to a recent update from Blu-Ray.com, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set for release on November 17, including a digital version of the film. At the time of this report, the specifics regarding the extra features for the 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD editions are still pending announcement.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie has shattered numerous box office records, accumulating a staggering $2.33 billion globally. This installment, part of Phase 6, is notable for introducing a major X-Men character, with Sadie Sink debuting as Jean Grey.

Despite the conclusive feel of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sony and Marvel have not confirmed any plans for a sequel. Amy Pascal, former Sony CEO, emphasized in a July interview with Deadline that their projects with Marvel are decided on a film-by-film basis. She expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, “It’s always been on a film-by-film basis. I love working with Kevin, Marvel, and [Marvel co-president] Lou [D’Esposito]. It’s such a wonderful partnership, and I think we always put Peter first, and that’s why it works.”
While there might be speculation about Spider-Man 5 potentially being announced this year with Cretton at the helm again, any follow-up would still be a while away. Currently, Cretton is focused on the live-action adaptation of Naruto, with casting ongoing and production expected to commence in 2027.
While the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: Brand New Day left many questions unanswered, it’s uncertain whether Holland will appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the next major MCU theatrical release scheduled for December. Although Peter’s solo ventures occur prior to this ensemble movie, there’s still a possibility that Holland might be involved, especially since Kevin Feige has hinted at more characters yet to be disclosed.
Even if Holland isn’t part of the 2026 ensemble, another Avengers film is on the horizon. Principal photography for Avengers: Secret Wars is slated to begin this fall. This film is set to be the grand finale of the Multiverse Saga, and it would be surprising if Spider-Man didn’t play a role in this climactic Phase 6 movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still showing in theaters.
