World Premiere of “A Good Little Soldier” at Venice Film Festival
Stéphane Brizé’s latest film, A Good Little Soldier, is set to have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival this week, followed by its North American introduction at the Toronto Film Festival. Deadline has exclusively released the first trailer for this much-anticipated movie.
The film marks Brizé’s 11th venture into fictional storytelling. A Good Little Soldier follows his thematic focus on workplace dynamics, a central element in his previous works such as The Measure of a Man, At War, and Another World.
In this new drama, Alba Rohrwacher portrays Carlotta, a highly efficient and committed HR manager who faces a career-defining challenge when she encounters a situation of harmful management practices within her company.
Vincent Lindon, collaborating with Brizé for the sixth time and previously awarded Best Actor at Cannes for his role in The Measure of a Man, plays the aggressive CEO of the company where Carlotta is employed. His character drives a new company initiative aimed at enhancing employee well-being while also insisting on rigorous performance targets, a directive that risks pushing Carlotta to her limits.
Gaumont, the company overseeing international sales, has announced several deals as anticipation builds ahead of the film’s showing in Venice, with negotiations still pending in various other regions.
Produced by Gaumont under the leadership of Sidonie Dumas, and co-produced with France 3 Cinéma with support from Canal+, A Good Little Soldier is scheduled for release in French cinemas on November 25.
