New Leadership Structure at Accent Aigu Entertainment
Toronto’s own Accent Aigu Entertainment, the studio behind the acclaimed series Heated Rivalry, has announced a significant overhaul of its leadership framework.
Founders Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady, previously serving as co-Presidents of the company, are transitioning into new executive roles. Tierney will now serve as the Chief Creative Officer and executive producer, while Brady will take on the duties of CEO and executive producer. This restructuring comes after the company’s formation in 2023 and its subsequent rise to prominence following the success of the queer drama Heated Rivalry on Crave and HBO. The series gained massive popularity in the U.S., catapulting actors Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie to fame.
Key Appointments and Roles
Accent Aigu Entertainment also announced several key appointments within the company. Jayme Alter Wilson, previously an advisor since the company’s early days, has been appointed President. She brings extensive experience from her previous role as a partner in the media, entertainment, and sports sectors at Dentons. Craig Merritt is now the CFO, tasked with overseeing financial operations and production budgets. Merritt’s background includes significant experience with both public and private financial operations.
Lori Fischburg, who formerly line-produced Heated Rivalry, is stepping in as the Head of Production. She will manage the company’s production activities. Liane Cunje, previously involved with the Toronto International Film Festival as a programming manager and industry selection programmer, has been named Development Executive and producer, overseeing the development of the company’s projects.
Upcoming Projects and Expansion
The production house is currently developing the eagerly awaited second season of Heated Rivalry. Plans to broaden their scripted content are underway, following the show’s initial announcement last year as part of Bell Media streamer Crave’s 2025/26 programming slate.
In addition to their ongoing projects, Accent Aigu is collaborating with Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Entertainment to co-produce a Netflix drama series based on Alexander the Great, a venture first reported in March.
Reflecting on the company’s trajectory and future, Tierney and Brady expressed their enthusiasm: “Accent Aigu has achieved remarkable success over the past year, and we are thrilled about the direction we are heading. As our company continues to expand, it is crucial to integrate individuals who are not only profoundly experienced in their respective areas but who also share our vision for what we aspire to build. Jayme, Craig, Lori, and Liane each embody the kind of innovative leadership and commitment to storytelling that will fortify our foundation for sustained success.”
Accent Aigu is represented by CAA.
